On 12 September 2024, the 2024 Europe-China Seminar on People-to-people and Cultural Exchange was successfully held in Wuxi, China. Representatives from Hungary, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Italy and other countries, as well as more than 300 representatives from nearly 100 vocational colleges in China attended the conference.
The conference is guided by World Skills Development Alliance, Hungarian National Directorate for Vocational Training and Adult Education, IKK, FP Empresa, Teknokent Kolegi, Skillman, and hosted by NALIKE International Education, EU-China One Belt One Road Culture, Education, Tourism and Economic Development Committee, and Sino-German Alliance of Enterprises and Education.
The conference is a sub-forum of the 2024 EducationPlus 8th (Wuxi) International Conference on Vocational Education, which is one of the largest conference in China in the field of vocational education.
Vice President of World Skills Development Alliance pointed out in his speech that Europe and China are the representatives of the world's two major civilisations, and many European countries are now showing a strong desire to co-operate with China's vocational colleges. WSDA is committed to building bridges between Europe and China, and hopes that through the co-construction of digital curricula, ‘Chinese+Vocational Skill ‘ training and overseas branch campuses, Sino-European school-enterprise co-operation, overseas training and other forms, to improve the quality of training of skilled personnel. Currently in China, it has initiated cooperation with institutions in Spain and Turkey, involving Chinese cuisine, renewable energy, new energy vehicles, agriculture and other fields, and expects that EU-China cooperation will achieve good results.
A number of high-quality educational cooperation projects between Europe and China were launched at the conference, including the 'Silk Road People-to-People Connectivity' Base for People-to-People and Cultural Exchange on Intangible Cultural Heritage, the Curriculum Standards and Digital Curriculum Development Project for the Hungarian National Vocational Education Digital Resource Library, the Spanish ‘Bridge Plan’ Project, and the TCM Luban Workshop Teaching Resource Library Curriculum Standards and Digital Curriculum Development Project. New members of the World Skills Development Alliance were also announced. And several Chinese-European co-operation signing ceremonies were held.
This conference is a concrete manifestation of the deepening of EU-China co-operation in education. World Skills Development Alliance will continue to build bridges, promote EU-China exchanges and cooperation, and jointly cultivate global excellent skilled talents.
