On September 9, President of World Skills Development Alliance, President of Escola de la Mercé, President of Escola del Treball de Barcelona, and the NALIKE International Education visited Shanghai. Mr Dong Xiaofeng, President of Shanghai Communications Polytechnic, welcomed the European delegation and briefly introduced the history and current development of the college. He said that the college attaches great importance to international development, and looks forward to in-depth practical cooperation with the Alliance, so as to improve the level of professional construction and help the implementation of the ‘VET Goes Global 2.0’. The two sides discussed the international development path with practicality and applicability according to their respective needs.
On September 13th, the President of World Skills Development Alliance, the Director of Vocational Education Department of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation of Hungary, the President of Escola del Treball de Barcelona, the Vice President of EfVET, the NALIKE International Education, and the EU-China One Belt One Road Culture, Education, Tourism and Economic Development Committee went to Wuxi Institute of Technology to have an exchange visit. Wu Huiyuan, Vice President of Wuxi Institute of Technology and other relevant persons in charge participated in the meeting.
At the meeting, Vice President Wu Huiyuan welcomed the European delegation and introduced the college's running situation, saying that she looked forward to in-depth, practical and comprehensive cooperation based on their respective strengths in the future, and jointly make greater contributions to the cultivation of high-quality international talents in China and Europe.
The President of World Skills Development Alliance and the Director of Vocational Education Department of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation of Hungary, thanked the college for its warm reception, affirmed the college's achievements and looked forward to more in-depth co-operation with Chinese institutions in the future. The President of Escola del Treball de Barcelona also introduced the current situation of vocational education in Spain and put forward the intention of cooperation in the benchmarking of programme standards and curriculum standards of vocational education.
After the meeting, the European delegation visited the Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering Centre, Mechanical Engineering Training Centre and other places to learn about Wuxi Institute of Technology's development in discipline construction, talent training and other aspects, and expressed affirmation of its quality of education, teaching equipment and so on.
On 13 September, the Asia-Europe Vocational Education In-depth Cooperation Seminar was held at the Wuxi Vocational Institute of Commerce. The Department of Vocational Education of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation of Hungary, the NALIKE International Education, the World Skills Development Alliance, and the EU-China One Belt One Road Culture, Education, Tourism and Economic Development Committee visited the Wuxi Vocational Institute of Commerce. Zhu Zhanglong, Vice President of Wuxi Vocational Institute of Commerce, attended the meeting and delivered a welcome speech. More than 50 representatives of vocational colleges and trade associations from Europe and China participated in the conference and exchanged ideas.
Mr. Zhu Zhanglong made a report on the topic of ‘Exploration and Practice of Internationalisation of Wuxi Vocational Institute of Commerce’. He pointed out that the college has actively responded to the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative and the ‘Going Global’ strategy, promoted international exchanges and cooperation in vocational education, founded the first overseas university of Chinese higher vocational colleges, and accumulated rich experience in international development.

European and Chinese guests had in-depth exchanges and discussions, and expressed that Asia and Europe have rich educational resources and broad market demand, it is of great significance to strengthen in-depth cooperation in vocational education in Asia and Europe and promote the high-quality development of vocational education in each country, and this seminar will be conducive to promoting exchanges and co-operation between vocational education institutions in Asia and Europe, and helping to cultivate more high-quality skilled personnel with an international outlook and competitiveness.
During the meeting, the guests also visited the college's museum, teaching place, achievement exhibition, and participated in the culinary skills and tea ceremony demonstration activities.
